The Immortal of Battle returned to the table.

"I'm sorry but I must leave and attend to an urgent matter."

He took Anna's hand and kissed it lightly.

"Until we meet again, Mistress of Pain and Pleasure."

"Au revoir, Izuko."

He nodded to Juanelo.

"Immortal of Death."

"May victory be yours, Battle."

Izuko paid the bill and left into the pouring rain with an attendant with an umbrella waiting to usher him into a stretch black hummer limousine.

Don Juan watched Anna's gaze follow Izuko into his awaiting chariot.

"Are you two cozy as two mummies in a tomb?"

Anna snapped back from her reverie.

"What ever do you mean?"

"Don't be coy with me, Mistress. I know you too well."

"I'm not married like you are."

Don Juan gently grabbed her jaw and turned his gaze on her.

"We're just friends. We have coffee dates."

He pondered. He softly let go of her face.

"Anna, are you falling in love?"

Anna sighed mournfully.

"I'm the Mistress of Pain and Pleasure, Don Juan. Not the Mistress of Love and Joy."

Juanelo smiled.

"Indeed, mi amor. That you are."

"I've missed you, Juanelo."

"And I You."

"How have you been?"

"Sending everyone I find to their graves as usual."

"Your work is never done."

"How is your wife?"

"We have our differences, but it is the same as it always is."

Anna nodded.

"Well he already paid the bill, so I should return home, Don Juan."

"I'll walk you home."

"I didn't bring an umbrella."

"Neither did I."

They walked into the dark night and heavy rain. All they could hear was the thunder of the rain pelting everything around them. It was a cold autumn night. The streets were lonely for all with common sense were indoors safe behind locked doors and cozy fires.

Don Juan offered his arm.

She took it gracefully.

"It's cold, raining, and gloomy. I'm as wet as a poor street cat. But I think it's beautiful out. Don't you Juanelo."

"Death is beautiful to me. And when it rains, the heavens cry for those that must die. And to me that is beauty."

"Oh, Juanelo."

"Yes?"

Anna looked at him from a side glance.

"You know I think of you from time to time."

"My heart ached for you. I knew it was wrong but I ached for you."

He stopped and turned her to him.

She took her hand and placed it over his lips.

"Please don't say another word. It can never be. You belong where you have taken vows to belong. Don't say anything, please."
