"You're not going to skewer me, mi amor." "Feeling lucky aren't you? Let go of me and maybe I won't." He kissed her on the forehead which forced her to pierce his shirt open and he drew back a step. "Why do you fight me? You are amazing. You are what I seek in a heroine." Anna sheathed her sword and brushed her hair out of her eyes. "Well, I've got news for you. I'm not your heroine. Go save yourself." The Immortal of Death chuckled to himself. "I don't need saving. You can't save the damned." "Then you definitely don't need me." Suddenly footsteps running up the hall were heard and Malachi, one of the Immortal of Death's Nightmares came running through the door. "Malachi what are you doing here? You're supposed to be with Noah and Gisele handling a very delicate matter." "I'm sorry, M'Lord. But it's your Mistress. The Immortal of Dreams is at the gates and soon will be here." The Immortal of Dreams knows about Juanelo's particular fancy for Anna and she does not like it one bit. She made it very clear that she does not wish Anna to be his heroine. She does not want Anna to be her anything. Anna laughed out loud and started walking to the door. "Little one, where are you going?" "Where I belong. Not here with you. You belong with your Mistress. She has the dreams and you the nightmares. And I am Anna, Mistress of Pleasure and Pain, heroine to no one." "Please reconsider... "What does she have to reconsider," queried the Immortal of Dreams who had just walked in. Her shining silver hair and amethyst eyes glowed with an otherworldly, ethereal glow. She wore a brocaded lavender gown and purple cloak. She carried a silver sceptre in her right hand. "I was just leaving. There's nothing for me to reconsider." "I thought we discussed this already..." Anna started walking to the door. But before she exited she turned around to say one last thing. "I have never considered to be his heroine now or will I ever. I have no time for his nightmares and death wishes. I would very much appreciate it if you leave me out of this." With that Anna left, dreaming nothing. Nothing at all. | ||||||||||
